Hooray for SD!

What is SD you ask?
Just think for a moment it will probably come to you.
It’s social distancing of course! Aha…yes social distancing.
But why would I give social distancing a huge thumbs up! After all we are all so anxious to get back to what used to be our lives. So here’s the logic behind the Hooray! I was thinking that social distancing is really a solid biblical principle.
Keeping our distance from sin is to be expected for the one who desires to live a godly life.
Psalm 19:13 “Moreover, keep your servant from willful sins; do not let them rule me. Then I will be blameless and cleansed from blatant rebellion.”
The Bible clearly teaches us that we should separate (social distance more than six feet!) ourselves from sinners who would lead us down a pathway away from God.
The Apostle Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 1:6 “And you became followers of us and of the Lord,” Make no mistake about it we will follow someone and so Paul also makes the point, “Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”
So the need for us to keep ourselves clean from the world is a kind of social distancing in a positive way that transcends even Covid 19.
Pslam 1:1-3
1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of scoffers!
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.
